The Buzz-It Check Plug is a fast and easy way to ensure that 13A sockets are wired correctly, indicated by all three high brightness, long life, LED's illuminating and an audiable signal. Wiring errors are indicated by one or more LED's failing to light, with the pattern of lit LED's indicating the type of fault. This failsafe system means that any LED not lit indicates a problem. The unit has a virtually indestructible, flame retardant ABS case with a sculpted shape for easy removal. The plug induces less than 5mA of earth leakage, well below RCD trip thresholds. As with all simple socket testers, the plug only verifies the presence of an earth, it does not assess its quality.

This non trip earth loop impedance indicator is the first socket tester that give a measurement of the earth loop impedance. It is the only really safe solution for socket testing, as other testers can indicate as "safe" a socket with a dangerously high earth resistance. Conventional indicators have the weakness that they only tell if the earth is connected, they don't indicate how safe it is. Martindale's T-Safe patented technology gives safe, earth loop impedance checking within carefully selected bands, without tripping RCD's.

Nothing is more dangerous than trusting a defective voltage indicator. The proving unit produces 690V AC/DC to enable voltage indicators to be fully checked. This unit is designed for indicators with 230V and 415/440V AV or DC detection ranges, such as the Martindale VI3700G. The PD690 can also check Drummond and other filament test lamps as its output is sufficient to illuminate the bulbs. Not designed for use with multimeters or electronic voltage indicators. This is one of the few proving units designed to check indicators above 250V.
